In October 2008 a second international milk banking conference took place in Milan, Italy together with a meeting of the newly established European Milk Banking Association (EMBA). Once again, Professor Guido Moro and colleagues, in particular Dr Sertac Arslanoglu, provided a wonderful opportunity for those involved and interested in milk banking to take part in a conference that drew upon the experience and expertise of a wide number of professionals working in the global field of human milk banking. The day’s meeting was followed by a novel and illuminating film competition in which delegates were invited to submit short DVD’s depicting milk banking and related work. The films delighted the audience and the eventual winner was widely applauded and unanimously selected. Unfortunately there was only one prize. Future competitions may need to have additional categories such as best humorous depiction of milk banking and the best tear jerker! |
