MBE in New Years Honours List for Lynda Coulter

Lynda Coulter, founder and manager of the Chester and North Wales Milk Bank has been recognised for her services to Healthcare but it is her role in bringing about the establishment of a thriving milk bank at the Countess of Chester Hospital that has undoubtedly led to her receiving this award.

Lynda works as a Senior Neonatal Nurse Practitioner and Human Milk Bank Manager on the Special Care Baby Unit at the Countess of Chester Hospital and is also a UKAMB Trustee.   She has spearheaded fundraising efforts that have so far netted more than £320,000 ensure a secure future for the milk bank that was established in 2003.  Lynda is ably supported by fellow hard working enthusiasts Jane Lewis, Michelle Worden, Jane Brindley and Angela McShane.

Lynda is no stranger to awards having previously won the National Nurse Midwife of the Year Award at the Department of Health’s 2006 Health and Social Care Awards in recognition of her work in human milk banking.
